Course Description
The IFA Aromacare Carer’s Certificate Course is a practical, hands-on course that teaches learners the knowledge of touch and massage to express care and understanding for the elderly, children, and to provide a stress-relieving method for individuals with physical or mental health conditions. This course allows learners to add a new dimension to their caregiving by equipping them with a range of skills to safely and effectively apply and experience essential oils for those who, for various reasons, are unable to tolerate standard massages or more invasive therapies.
Aromacare practitioners will learn how specific essential oils can greatly benefit rehabilitation and wellness, and can also serve as a means of self-care. Whether the person being cared for is verbal or non-verbal, Aromacare conveys a new channel of communication through light touch, inhalation, and creates a soothing and nurturing environment.
The Aromacare course will teach how to assist vulnerable groups, such as children with additional needs, or adults and elderly individuals who are particularly vulnerable due to age or health conditions (e.g., dementia or physical disabilities), in coping with the so-called "Triple Barriers" of impaired social communication, impaired imagination, and heightened anxiety.
Graduates who successfully complete the course and assessments will automatically qualify for IFA Aromacare membership (IFA CARER membership).
